brittany-jean-will-copps-review.jpgI’m not even sure how I made it to Friday after a week full of 4am Facebook chats but I’m here and ready to bring you my thoughts on Brittany Jean and Will Copps’ Places. It seems to be that we’ve had a lot of girl power towards the end of the week here at Golden Mixtape, so we’re keeping it up with this vocally driven record that’s on par with the likes of someone like Christina Perri – only less in your face about it.

I think that’s what was missing from this album. I wanted that big moment, that one I could sink my teeth into but it never came. There’s no denying this girl has vocal chops, “Beneath the Crest of the Sea” continuously proves her natural ability. I just wish she’d shown off more range and even done more in the ways of “The Smoke the Snow” and the captivating “Vow.” While the vocals just needed to be amped up, the music and what was to be heard did flow nicely together. You can hear the teamwork of Brittany and Will paying off.

A nap is awaiting me later today before I hit the midday hay, I will tell you if you’re into dreamlike musical escapes that center around being calm, cool and collected then you better get your hands on Brittany and Will’s Places, out now.
