Oh Thursday, I woke up early with good intentions and then fell into my bed for an hour. Lost time meant missing a call from Sony about “my services” and being behind in things I have to get done. I called back and left a message and as wait for the phone to ring I’m blasting Eldora’s The Hopeless, The Submissive. Maybe I should’ve listened earlier because whoa, what a wakeup call.
The thrashing sounds sure aren’t the most appropriate thing for the morning hours, but it worked to give me a jolt of energy. This hardcore outlet from North Carolina brought their a-game to the field with “Affair of Affairs” which reminded me of He Is Legend a little bit. For that reason, I wasn’t mad at it. I think the cake goes to “Lady Liberty” though just because the lyrics make you stop and say, did he just say what I think he said in a song like this – interesting…I don’t think it’ll replace the National Anthem anytime soon, but it’s a good effort.
Ugh, I wish I could take back that hour, but at least I was able to get this review out to you and let you know a little bit about Eldora. If you’re into bands like Showbread and Every Time I Die, then there’s a very good chance you’ll listen to The Hopeless, The Submissive and have a new band in your life for good. It’s out now, so check it when you can and enjoy!
