charlie-grey-peter-cottonmouth-reviewSo one of the sites I write for was offering 15-20 bucks per slideshow so this week has been me collecting facts about this and that to ensure that I can pay my student loan and have a phone for another month. Oh freelance, you is a bitch. I’m glad I decided to take a break before I dove back into that madness with Charlie Grey’s Peter Cottonmouth. This is a weird one to end the week with. It’s alternative music with an indie base and reminded me a bit of a loser.

Wait, wait, wait…before you get offended it’s not that kind of loser. “Morning After Next” reminded me of Beck. While I dug this song an itty bitty bit I couldn’t help but wonder why anyone would want a sad girl We’re a mess, leave us be. I wasn’t a fan of the “I likely made this in the middle of the woods listening to Bon Iver” aka “The Great Northern.” On the flip side I did like the mesmerizing ways of the melancholy “Come and Greet Me with a Knife.” Those were the noteworthy moments spread about this record.

Now as I make myself some lunch and prepare for a few more hours of factoid list making, I want you to take a chance on Charlie Grey. This is especially true if you’re into indie that’s alternative and has some eccentricities to it. You can get your hands on Peter Cottonmouth right now because well, it’s out now…
