Light Years: Temporary

light-years-temporary-reviewHead is pounding, emails are never ending and I’m staring at the calendar worried I won’t make the quota set before me because I have 29 more articles for this one site to do and I just can’t manage my “professional” time with my new fun personal time like I thought I could. Anyways, a nice afternoon delight for me is taking a break from things I hate to doing things I love to do like listen to a nice pop punk record. So here we go with some typical sounds of that genre from Light Years’ Temporary.

Overall you get a youthful feel from this record. It kicks off with a winner, “My Whole Life,” and then has a few other gems sprinkled about like “Late At Night.” Those two are top notch as they have great lyrics and musically are on pop punk point, but it’s “Fall Apart” that stole the show with one line. Who hasn’t wished they were the song stuck in someone’s head? You hear the same things over and over again in songs but I think this is the first time that line’s crossed my path and I loved it, I’m stealing it for my Tumblr and am going to one day scream it at the stupid boy who doesn’t realize I’m the one.

Now back to the things I hate, but first – if you like bands like Real Friends and old school New Found Glory, check out Light Years’ Temporary, out September 9th on Animal Style Records.
