The following was written in between a panic attack and a pint of ice-cream…So I’ll just get to it because it’s been a minute and I need to get my ass back on track. Thrills’ Thrills of Constantly Collapsing isn’t something I’d personally pop on because it leans a little too close to that indie music I respect, but don’t own. It’s like that We Are Scientists – a good time, but not my time.
Not in the mood for lovey dovey lyrics today, my mind soared over “Projected Soul,” then landed on “Deleuze.” That one was like listening to a college thesis with lines like “Plato’s allegorical cave began this way” sprinkled about. Musically things were for the most part lively indie renditions done with an electronic mindset. At least that’s what I got from the cream of the crop, “Satellites” and another good note, “Shadow Spirit.”
So in the end you have this indie band who likes to move and write songs that are on the intellectual side of life. Does that sound like your cup of tea? If so, please take a minute or hour to check out Thrills’ Thrills of Constantly Collapsing, out now. It’s actually been out awhile, so get on it!
