fake-shark-real-zombie-liar-reviewGoing off of a few hours sleep, I’m not even sure how my parts are functioning because I’m pretty sure my brain is still clocked out and won’t return until late afternoon. Geez, the early morning isn’t fit for doing much especially listening to Fake Shark – Real Zombie’s Liar. Only a handful of songs deep, this record was definitely something else perfect for a select niche.

Where do I even begin? If Shwayze had a baby with 3oh!3 and it was the older, dirtier brother of Forever The Sickest Kids – that’d be Fake Shark – Real Zombie! In just five songs you go all over the place. “Paint It Gold” made you think it was that M.I.A. song, “Paper Planes” while “F**k Kevvy” was like a storytime gone wrong; complete with unresolved daddy issues. Surprisingly enough, the worst was also the best. “Afterskool Special” is definitely not recommended for the prudes of the world, but you can’t knock a song that carries its fellow tracks.

I’m not sure what I just listened to as my brain’s little “back at noon” sign is still up, but if you like your pop rock a little lot dirtier than the typical person, by all means…Fake Shark – Real Zombie! is forever yours. While they’re not for me, they might be for you so check out Liar, out March 18th.
