The holidays are upon us and that’s apparent due to the continuous sales at the mall that swear they’re better this week than last, the weird Macy’s Parade (all that waving is unnatural) and of course the music. From the Rudolph regulars to the heartmelting ways of Frosty, but if you’re bored with those then maybe you need some pop punk tossed in the mix? That’s what BoyMeetsWorld and their record, Merry Christmas, Ya Filthy Animal…, is here for.
The most pop punk you’ll get though is “Christmas Time Again” at the start of the record, and then just a teensy bit with “Merry Christmas, Ya Filthy Animal…,” which happens to be the strongest song on the whole album. After that you have boys whose only company this season are a bunch of boys whose only company this season is sad times heard in the sincere “Rather Be But Here” and rightfully titled, “Alone For The Holidays.” They’re well written sentiments and suggested for those who too are feeling down and out during this time of year.
If you need a companion when the stores start transforming into Winter Wonderlands and are a fan of bands like All Time Low, then make sure to make BoyMeetsWorld’s Merry Christmas, Ya Filthy Animal… part of your stereo’s holiday rotation from here on out.
