There’s never enough time in the day and I’m five seconds from walking away from the job that pays my bills. I enjoy the things I don’t get paid to do way more than I should. Things like listening to bands that are new to me like Diamonds Under Fire and their new album Hearts on Hiatus. As I enter the mid-afternoon the apartment guest is watching Roseanne, and I’m focused on this rock group who symbolizes all I know about females in real rock bands.
When I think of girls wielding guitars a few images come to mind. There’s the poptastic Swifts, the rocking powerhouse pop Hayley Williams and then the gritty girls like The Runaways. Diamonds Under Fire are like the last on my list thanks to songs that hold no apologies like “This Song” and “Everything Fades To Red,” which is my top choice and recommendation on the album. It’s that song that makes them a true blue rock band regardless of gender. “Empty Walls” was a good modern rock track, but I was weary only because bare walls are low on my list of things I love.
It’s still up in the air if I’ll walk into my weekly meeting and say adios, but I’m for sure that if you’re a fan of rock music then you’ll want to get in tune with Diamonds Under Fire. Check out their album Hearts on Hiatus, out December 10th.
