the-glass-embrace-the-light-that-shines-into-our-graves-reviewWhen Saturday comes – I won’t be slowing down. I’m behind in all aspects of life and am typing so fast right now that I think I even made that Bolt guy a little jealous. So This Glass Embrace…I was a bit thrown off by The Light The Shines Into Our Graves. There were a lot of genres tossed onto one album and it was a bit like a cousin of those NOW CDs.

From “Cartesian” to “Marrow” a new band emerged. Where did that hardcore yell come from in the second? I think if they strayed away from that overzealous nature and kept things light the whole way through, it’d work out better. Songs like “The Atlantic” could land them on a Relient K tour; which is awesome for fans upbeat pop rock. Wait, pop rock – that’s their style? Think again because things got a little folky with “I Was Gathering Dust” and “The Nowhere Door.”

Somewhere between a folk band at Coachella and a young pop rock act on the Ernie Ball stage at Warped Tour sits This Glass Embrace. If you like your bands with a lot of layers, then this one might be for you. The Light The Shines Into Our Graves is out now, so if your life is a little out of control…Take a second for some music and check it out.
