Thousand Fingers: Pathways

thousand-fingers-pathways-reviewTwo days later and everyone is still bitching about the finale of Dexter. I’m trying to avoid being that person who’s like, “Well guys…If you knew anything about serial killers…” by distracting myself with music  and writing. So here I am with Thousand Fingers’ Pathways and it’s really hard not to jump on Twitter and defend Mr. Morgan’s end when listening to an album like this. It’s a rock record, but not particularly the kind of rock I’d toss on.

There were multiple times throughout Pathways that I wondered what Thousand Fingers were going for. Were they this radio rock band like Hoobastank with songs like “Julius,” which happened to be one of the few I nodded in approval to, or were they going for something a bit harder with the dramatic delivery of “Descending From The Skies?” I never really found the answer as I became even more puzzled by the surprise Potterhead anthem, “River Wizard.” “If I were a wizard…” I’d make people shut about already about Dexter.

When Pathways was over and done, I still was stuck pondering Thousand Fingers exact style. All I know is that they’re rock with leaves of branches in the genre tossed in their pile. If you’d like to give this record a chance or are an avid Harry Potter fan, then check out Pathways, out September 28th.
