My Iron Lung: Grief

When you take off to explore parts of the city you’ve only seen from the passenger seat, you’ll either surprise yourself with discovery or figure out no matter where you are…it’s all the same. Lately I’ve been feeling like a failure, comparing my existence to every single one of my friends who’ve either found success in a job or happiness in a family. The anger and pain I feel mirrors the levels of such on My Iron Lung’s Grief.

“Broken Home”…Not an ode to Papa Roach, but a song that proves there’s more to showcasing an emotion, than putting pen to paper. It’s the same situation I went through listening to Indian Taker. Not only are they similar in that sense, but have a similar style as well.

Usually I have to be in the mood for music like this, fearless and high levels of testosterone, and yeah I’m pissed with reality right now, but after a day of seeing that every place is the same and everyone has highs and downs…I started enjoying Grief by the time “Late Bloomers, Early Caskets” even though I was in a better state of mind.

Last note of the record, “Here’s To Collaborative Efforts Made By All Things Under The Sun” has to be most annoying thing to write on a set list.

Despite the long winded headliners, Grief is full of not only that, but showcases the experiences that happened, to create the music wonderfully. My Iron Lung’s Grief is for fans of Ape Up! and Chalk Talk, and is out September 4th on Pure Noise Records.
