I’ve written too much about how some guy met the mother of his children over the past 24 hours and now it’s time to move onwards with Fine Fine Titans’ Omega. It’s a powerhouse, that’s for sure with a Jennifer Bartlett at the helm. She, along with Evan, Kris and Joe created a pure rock record that’s definitely for those who like things with a soft core and a rough exterior.
Right away “Dance of the Omega” gets your heart pulsating as Jennifer breaks thins down – she’s not one to be messed with and that’s apparent from the first hardcore sound that escapes her. It’s pretty intimidating but then you get the softer side of Fine Fine Titans with the ballad-core (is this a thing? making it a thing) of “Fahrenheit Diaries.” Somewhere between those two sits “The Chauvinist,” possibly my personal favorite on the EP, but that’s just me – but I totally recommend you give that one the first chance.
Fine Fine Titans have less rage than Lacuna Coil and not as much operatic touches as say Evanescence, so if you’re in the market for a band that’s not too much in either of those departments and play in the hardcore section of life, then this band’s for you. You can check out Omega when it drops April 8th.
