The thought of homicide has crossed my mind one too many times this morning and gazing at the clock, it’s not even 10:30am. I pray to whatever religion that works that I can be rid of the current half-ass employment I’m in and move on to something better while still maintaining my relationship with the blog you are reading now. For reviewing albums like Rocket & The Ghost’s self-titled EP keeps me from acting on my rage, plus I wouldn’t look too good in an orange jumpsuit.
Rocket & The Ghost is like a hipster with a sex drive. The majority of the songs come across as sensual like “Daylight” and “Gold.” For the subject matter doesn’t really come across as strong as the delivery. The whole time “Daylight” played I was fanning myself and thinking that this band could do very well in the company of that Fitz and The Tantrums on a tour. When they weren’t doing everything in their power to produce hot and bothered reactions, Rocket & The Ghost picked things up with a couple spirited tracks, “Shame” and “Goodbye.”
If you too need a distraction from a Horrible Bosses situation, may I recommend some Rocket & The Ghost? Their brand of sexy indie music is for those who fancy the likes of Canopy Climbers and Kid Runner. Rocket & The Ghost is out now and streaming at MSN now.
