Stangers Now/Enta: Split

strangers-now-enta-split-reviewBig lesson learned from this past weekend? When you have bad vibes, listen to your gut because it could be the difference between saving yourself $40 bucks and being a free man. We don’t have to go into the details, let’s just say I swear on a nonreligious Bible that I’ll try and be better and think before I act. With that said, let’s start this week off right. Strangers Now and Enta teamed up for a Split that’s a lot of hardcore, post hardcore and screaming techniques to take in on a Monday morning when your eyes are still a bit hazy and your tummy is being rude.

This is the first time I’ve listened to a Split that wasn’t an even one. So we’re going to start with Strangers Now. With a pair of tracks, Strangers Now bring coarse and blood curdling to the table. “One thirty-six a.m.” and “The Love I Had” were equally as hard to their core, and for those who have a liking for Die My Darling and Leaftrace. As for Enta, they were the post of Strangers Now hardcore essence, although they were essentially the same to my ears; not a bad thing. Enta’s trio of tracks complemented the others well. I just found myself identifying more with the words behind Enta’s “Become” and “Unchanged,” so that’s the only reason Enta ended up with more plays from my end.

In recent weeks and days, I’ve had a hard time but things like Monsters University and Enta’s simple words, “…everything will be okay,” I think I’ll overcome. If you like bands like Die My Darling and Living & Wrestling, then get on this collaboration from Strangers Now and Enta. Their Split is out now and has been out, so stop slacking and get on it.
