Warped stages are all sponsored by this and that and while some of the larger ones change annually, the Ernie Ball Stage is a mainstay that allows lesser known bands a chance to share the bill with the likes of NOFX, New Found Glory and My Chemical Romance (it’s been awhile hasn’t it…come back to Warped MCR!), just to name a few. This year we’ve met June Divided who made it to the finals in LA and are set to play a string of dates this summer, and Par 6 would love the opportunity to be right by their side. But before you vote for them to play, check out what I thought of their album Don’t Worry About It…You have to know what you’re voting for, right?
Not sure of Steve Cohen’s age, but his raspy voice came across a little like James Dewees. So if you take Reggie and the Full Effect and add the pop punk of All Time Low, you’ll get Par 6. This New York band would definitely get your attention as you walked by the Ernie Ball Stage if they were playing the Dirty Work like “I Swear.” That along with the fun and catchy “Change Your Mind” hit the music fan who are looking to just enjoy their day in the sun. But if you’re looking to take home what you see, hear no further than “Keepin’ Up.” Riddled with lines like “you’ll never make it,” it has that 2002 staple Good Charlotte and Simple Plan hammered into tweens and teens. Now kids that age have something to gravitate towards should they vote and get a chance to see Par 6 in action at their select date this summer performing songs from Don’t Worry About It.
Voting is a privilege and if you aren’t able to pick the next president of the US, than mark your musical ballot and help out bands all over the country take a giant step towards their goals. Par 6 is for fans of is gutting for Boston, MA, so come on Beantown guys and gals get on it! And check out all the other bands. You never know, you’re new favorite band may be out there waiting to be clicked on.
